Congrats goes to the awesome folks at the blog What’s Your Tag?! The guys there are awesome, and their blog is everything I would want mine to be if I decided to keep trying to make Game Over You Suck a news blog. I annoy the guys at WYT? far too often, and I figured I would give them a little something back. So CONGRATS! I hope the next year goes great for you!
Now, with that aside, I can talk about the artwork itself. Man, I went about this in a super stupid way. With no tablet I have to rely on drawing outside the computer, then bringing it in. So I drew the basic image on notebook paper, transcribed it to blank computer paper, inked it, scanned it, then realized I couldn’t just color the image online… I had to re-draw the entire image with a brush tool on paint.net in order to create layers for the colors. Whew.
Coloring isn’t my forte. In fact, I don’t think I’m good at coloring. And on top of everything, I got sick like, three days ago, and I’m completing this on sheer force of will. I did get a bit lazy with the coloring at the end, like with Mileson’s plaid shirt being solid. All things considered, I think it came out pretty well. The line work is very my style and the guys all have been translated fairly well in anime-style. Looking back at the line work, I should’ve made Mileson’s sideburns longer, but whatever, I’ll do better next time. I took liberties with Mileson’s and AMGfail’s eye color, and I feel like Kafka Luck got gipped a bit, as the image doesn’t really bring out any personality. At some point, I’ll do another drawing of Mr. Luck and try to capture his personality in the comics.

Dude, I love this! Amazing, amazing job and thanks for showing us way more love than we (probably) deserve lol.
First of all, sorry to you and Mileson for commenting on y’all’s post with “Hey check out my blog!” I figured with so many followers it would go through the cracks.
Second of all, did y’all get a new member? It seems as soon as I posted this, a new guy does two or three posts. So apologies to him for not being on there.
And third of all, absolutely no problem. You three are fun, you each have distinct looks which makes it very fun to draw, you treat the people who come to your blog very well, and the content produced by WTY? is always great. Honestly, I’m a fan, and you make everyone feel like a friend. So this was a thank you from me.
For the most part it’s usually Miles, Kafka or myself tossing up content, but we have 2 or 3 others who post every so often. We’re still looking for more permanent contributors though, so if you’re interested feel free to toss Miles an email.
And seriously, it’s not a big deal at all that you told us you made us fan art lol. Nobody is going to think you’re trying to hawk your wares! We appreciate our readers more than anything and you guys are just as big a part of WYT? as the content itself.
If you guys had a freelance budget I’d jump all over that, but at this point I don’t want to make any major volunteer commitments. Besides, I don’t even play my Xbox anymore, so it’d be silly for me to join WYT?. Lol
Lol, WYT? being an Xbox blog is a common misconception. While we’re all Xbox fans, we cover everything. Hell, I’m generally a Nintendo guy more than anything.
No freelance budget for us. None of us make a dime off of anything and we spend our own money on every single game we review. It’s a labor of love, but we’re all striving to make it something much bigger.
I hope you guys start pulling in crazy ad revenue in the near future.
With your amount of followers and likely high monthly views, you could probably start reaching out to developers about review copies in the future, which might help mitigate some of the expenses.
